What Keeps Your Shirt From Collapsing?

Before you accuse a critic of setting up a straw man, be sure to lift up your shirt and check for straw.  

Maybe your position really is that susceptible to defeat.  Don’t take too much comfort in the confidence you have in your own position.  Your opponent is probably just as confident in his position.  And you can be sure that he thinks your critique of him is merely a swipe at straw man.  Count on it.
